Telfed Is hosting an evening with ABEL AND GLENDA LEVITT - FORMERLY OF CAPE TOWN-
A THIRTEEN YEAR JOURNEY TO THE TOWN OF PLUNGE (Plungyan).

from their first visit in 1988 they have built up a close relationship with the
sculptor, folk artist and Guardian of Memory Yacovas Bunka, the last Jew in
Plungyan, and his son Eugenijus, journalist, researcher and historian.

Together with the outstanding Lithuanian teacher, Danute Serapiniene, they helped
to establish a Tolerance Education Centre at the Gymnazia in the town of Plunge.

The power point presentation describes a 13 year journey culminating in the
unveiling of a unique project, a Wall of Memory at the site of the mass graves in
the forest near the town.

The 60 minute presentation will be followed by a 30 minute DVD of the ceremony of
the unveiling of the names of the victims of the murder of the Jews of Plungyan in
July 1941.

Tea and coffee will be served in the Board Room, where an exhibition of paintings
by Lithuanian children with the theme The Holocaust will be shown.
