I am helping a friend try to find a possible survivor of WWII. The surname
is CHECHELNIKER, which is fairly unusual.
An older woman living in the Ukraine is looking for her brother, Huna
Haimovich CHECHELNIKER. The family was >from Tulchin, Ukraine but in 1941 the
Germans rounded up all the Jews and took them to the Pechera camp which was
nearby. Huna was 14 years old and either left the camp looking for food or tried
to escape. He never returned.
His sister's name is Klara CHECHEKNIKER Katsman, and has always hoped that
somehow her older brother survived her.
If you have any information about Huna or even the CHECHELNIKER surname,
please get in touch with me.
Shana Tova to all,
