Hi fellow researchers,

This is an informational post to all researching Lwow/Lviv/Lemberg and the surrounding area. Searching the Family Search (LDS) Library online catalogue http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp I discovered they now list 13 films of 1941-1942 Jewish Registration Cards >from the city of Lwow/Lviv/Lemberg (currently Lviv Ukraine, formerly Lwow Poland and Lemberg Austrian Galicia). These were filmed at the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine Lviv and are >from fond 701/5. They are categorized under Ukraine, Lâ?²viv, Lâ?²viv, Lâ?²viv - Jewish records, Jewish Registration Cards 1941-1942, Jewish Congregation. Lâ?²viv. Miriam Weiner's website describes these records as "20,000 index cards [alpha by name] created by the Judenrat in July, 1941". They are not indexed, are not online and I have not seen them so I do not know how they are organized or what information they contain.
