Rabbi Feivel (Uri, Schraga) SCHREIER or SCHREYER of Bohorodchany (Brotchin), now in southwestern Ukraine #galicia

Does anyone have any information about the family of Rabbi Feivel /
Uri / Schraga SCHREIER (1828? - 1898)? He was >from the little town
known variously as Bohorodchany or Bogorodchany or Bohorodczany,
or known in Yiddish as Brotchin or Brodchin. The town was formerly
in Galicia, and is now in southwestern Ukraine. It is not far from
Nadworna (Nadvirna) and Stanislawaw (Ivano-Frankivsk).
Unfortunately, almost no Jewish vital records are known to have
survived >from the town. Even the cemetery was destroyed in WWII.

Homeowner records did survive for Bohorodchany, though, and I am
looking forward to receiving copies of them through the ongoing
Gesher Galicia Cadastral Map Project (see
<http://www.jewishgen.org/galicia/cadastral_maps_and_landowners_project/records.php>
for a searchable database of known records at the Lviv archives ).
But while those records will likely provide some names and clues,
they may not necessarily show family relationships.

Rabbi Schreier died in 1898, reportedly at about 70 years old, which
would put his birth year around 1828. He was an early religious
Zionist >from Galicia, and was briefly eulogized by Theodore Herzl at
one of the Basel conferences. Who were his parents, sibling(s),
spouse(s), and/or descendant(s)? Given his Zionist leanings, perhaps
he had family who went to Israel?

My own Schreier family lived in Nadworna (Nadvirna), just one town
away >from Bohorodchany, residents since at least 1787 and probably
earlier than that, so I am curious to find out if we're related in any
way. My branch did not have any rabbis or scholars whatsoever,
though -- just lots of tailors.

You can read more about Rabbi Schreier here:

Thanks in advance for your help!
