In Bob Friedman's post on this subject he mentions a book by Cherikover, I.
M., 1881-1943 at the Center for Jewish History. The book is in Yiddish. An
ongoing project of mine has been to translate the chapters relating to
Golovanevsk, the birthplace of my grandfather, to English. For those

I note that Shawn Weil's original post on the subject asked for information
about a pogrom in Savran. By coincidence, that shtetl is mentioned in the
very first paragraph of the Golovanevsk story.
