Gesher Galicia is recruiting a new membership chair, because Leon
Gold, who has served in this position for 12 years is retiring.

We hope one of our listserv readers will be interested in volunteering
for these duties which are essential to our organization's smooth
running. Here is what's required:

-process new and renewing memberships
-maintain membership list spreadsheet
-sent welcome letters to new members
-deposit membership payments
-inform treasurer of deposit information
-work with Family Finder editor/coordinator to keep Family Finder
data and distribution lists current
-handle annual membership renewal mailing and process returned
forms/checks
-work with Shelley Pollero to process renewals and new
memberships that come through PayPal
-send appropriate issues of the current year's Galitzianer to those
renewing/joining after general distribution has occurred
-other related duties

We will train you! Our membership year begins January 1, but we
have members joining us year 'round. It's a great way to meet and
make contact with new people getting interested in their Galician
roots. Best of all, we communicate in cyberspace, so you can live
anywhere in the world and do this job. We will welcome you with
open arms to our corps of volunteers, working together to make
Gesher Galicia a success.
