Ukraine SIG #Ukraine Vital records update #ukraine
Harvey Kabaker <ukrainesig.images@...>
We have acquired all vital records available on LDS microfilm >from 11 of
the top 13 Ukraine SIG towns, ranked by the number of researchers
registered in the JewishGen Family Finder. Several reels for Nikolaev
and Leski, nos. 7 and 8, respectively, need to be scanned.
We could use some more volunteer help, for as little as two hours a week.
You don't need to be able to read Russian, Ukrainian, Hebrew or Yiddish.
You do need to be computer literate; you will use a PC to scroll a
microfilm a frame at a time, adjust the image and save a file to your
thumb drive (flash drive, memory stick), store the files in appropriate
directories and transfer them on line to me or to Janette Silverman for
further processing. If you want to help or need more information, please
get in touch with Harvey Kabaker -- email@example.com.
Below is a list of the Family History Centers and libraries that have
modern microfilm readers. If you are within commuting distance >from one,
please consider helping in this project. If you live close to some other
Family History Center and would like to help, please get in touch with
Harvey Kabaker -- firstname.lastname@example.org.
