There is an older cemetery on the East side of Des Moines, I am not sure exactly where, where there were burials from the Children of Israel congregation.  That congregation disbanded and the memorial plaques were in Beth El Jacob's synagogue, before they sold the building (and I am not sure that BEJ still is active).  I know that the memorial boards were given to the Iowa Jewish Historical Society for storage, until such time as BEJ has another building.  Jewish Glendale, is as was suggested a section in the city cemetery of Glendale, and there were subsections for each of the three congregations.  But I think that cemetery dates back to the 1950's.
