Re: הנושא: [JewishGen.org] Who has access to the LDS library? (I need a microfilm)

The microfilm records that, at one time, could be ordered to your local Family History Center, are no longer available.  Centers were allowed to keep the films that were in their inventory, but the only place left to access all microfilms is at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.  That being said, the LDS Church is in the process of digitizing all of their microfilm collection.  Most are or will soon be available on Familysearch.org. Some, due to contractual agreements the church has with various repositories, will only be available for viewing at Family History Centers.  The good news here is that Familysearch is available all over the world and it is a free service.  They have stated they expect the entire digitization project to be completed sometime in 2022.
