Re: Wajchandler in Szydlowiec JRI Poland #poland
Hi Jeffrey. New reply to an old message of yours on another topic.
We may have some common family based on names you are researching. My great uncle by marriage was Mordka Aron / Mordechai WAJCHANDLER b.1854 and d.1932 both in Szydlowiec. His second wife was my great aunt Elka Chaja “Annie” born MALIN , later LASTMAN. They married in 1899 in Szydlowiec, having at least 7 WAJCHANDLER children in Szydlowiec. I am in touch with the descendants of five of these children who are based in Toronto Canada or Rio de Janeiro Brazil. Two of the WAJCHANDLER daughters and their married families STEINBERG and FILBERMAN were killed in the Holocaust.
Some of the other sibs and descendants changed their names to WHITE in North America, though those in Brazil retained the WAJCHANDLER name.
I also have a couple of precious photos of this family including Mordka Aron taken in Szydlowiec.
Finally, I have note of a first marriage of Mordka Aron WAJCHANDLER to Bajla RINGERMACHER but no details.
Unfortunately no info on sibs, parents or grands of Mordka Aron, though from the names of their children, I’d guess there may have been a Hersz/Gersz, Faivel, Nuta or Froim / Ephriam amongst his male ascendants.
Let me know if any of this sounds familiar...
