I am looking for advice on further research suggestions to document the relationship between two individuals who died in 1823 in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland.

My 5^th Great-Grandfather, Szloma PUTTER, died on 30 May 1823 at age 89 (estimated birth year = 1734) in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland.  His occupation was innkeeper.  He was married to Laja WAYC, daughter of Peysach WAYC and Rajzla; she died 2 May 1833 in Tomaszow Lubelski at age 84 (estimated birth year = 1749).  They had three known sons – Berko Leyba (born about 1774), Josef Majer (born about 1775) and Abus (born about 1780).  No parents are listed on Szloma PUTTER’s death record but sons Josef Majer and Abus are identified as sons of the deceased and listed as witnesses in the death record.  After their father’s death, all three sons named their next male children Szloma in memory of their father.

Cyna (= Sinai) PUTER died on 25 Mar 1823 in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland at age 73 (estimated birth year = 1750).  His occupation was innkeeper.  He was married to Chaja, daughter of Szulim; she died 6 Aug 1829 in Tomaszow Lubelski at age 72 (estimated birth year = 1757).  They had at least two children – Pinkwas (born about 1789) and Ruchla HALTMAN (born PUTER about 1798).  No parents are listed on Cyna PUTER’s death record but son Pinkwas PUTER and son-in-law Mortko Wolf HALTMAN are identified as such and as witnesses in the death record.  Pinkwas named his son Senel [= Netaniel]; Senel PUTER took the name Cyna over time.  Morko Wolf HALTMAN and Ruchla HALTMAN (born PUTER) initially named their son, who was born 9 Jun 1822, Chaim PUTER.  Chaim PUTER’s 1862 marriage record gives his name as Chaim Syna PUTER.  Presumably, Chaim’s parents added the middle name Syna after Ruchla’s father Cyna died in 1823.

Abus PUTER, son of Szloma PUTTER, named his son Cyna; this child was born on 30 Apr 1823 in Tomaszow Lubelski, Poland, just one month after the 25 Mar 1823 death of the elder Cyna PUTER (c.1750-1823).  Abus PUTTER’s own father, Szloma, died a month after this new son was born and named (Szloma died 30 May 1823).  Abus PUTER named his next son Szloma (born 27 Jan 1826) in memory of his father.  That Abus PUTER named his son Cyna so close to the elder Cyna’s death suggests a close relationship between the Szloma PUTTER and Cyna PUTER families.

I submitted a 67-marker Y-DNA sample of a documented PUTTER descendant of Cyna PUTER (c.1750-1823) to FamilyTreeDNA.com in 2016.  The results indicated the descendant and I were within a Genetic Distance of 3.  This test suggests that there is a 51% probability that we had a Most Recent Common Ancestor within 9 generations and an 85% probability that we had a Most Recent Common Ancestor within the 12 generations.  We have to date documented 8 generations in each family line.

I engaged a genealogist/archivist in Lublin to examine notarial records in Tomaszow Lubelski around the time of the deaths in 1823 of Szloma PUTTER and Cyna PUTER.  He found two records in 1814 and 1816 regarding Szloma PUTTER and his son Josef Majer.  Neither of these records refer to older generations.  He also found no records regarding Cyna PUTER.

I would be grateful for any suggestions about how to proceed in researching exactly how the Szloma PUTTER and Cyna PUTER families might be related.
