Does anyone know if there are travel records of the 400 surviving forced labor workers from the Pfaff sewing machine factory in Kaiserslautern, Germany? I contacted the Jewish Museum, Yad Vashem and the American Jewish Committee, but they had nothing.
Vania Caretti in Italy has proof her relatives worked at the factory, but is seeking further records:
Maria Leszko, wife of Nicolas Lischt, possibly of Kiev or Drohobych, may have died at Kaiserslautern.
Their daughter, Olga Lischt, b. 1924, married Eugenio Francini, an Italian soldier who worked at the factory, and both went to live in Italy. [Vania has taken a DNA test at My Heritage and her kit is in GEDmatch. She has no close matches in GEDmatch as yet.] Thank you very much! Linda Wolfe Kelley, Portland, OR, USA
