The (US) National Archives and Records Administration 9NARA) has digitized hundreds of old film reels shot between 1914 and 1936. This covers the period before America’s entry into World War l through the interwar years before World War ll. Coverage includes German and allied troops footage. Not all are available online.


The reels range from war footage to dogs being trained to deliver cigarettes to the men in the trenches as well as the those who served everyday lives.
