My half first cousin Bina Rakower (b 1855) married Benjamin Blumberg and had two children:

Sura Blumberg b 24 Apr 1876 in Warsaw m Mordka Popower.  She arrived in Rio on 22 Aug 1945

Abraham Blumberg b 16 Feb 1879 in Berlin m Sara Majerowitz. He arrived in Rio 5 Jul 1939.

Two of Sura and Mordka Popower’s children also made it to Rio.

Mauritz  b 2 May 1900 in Berlin m Margot Cohen  arrived in Rio 6 Mar 1939

Elza Popower b 29 May 1908 m Lajb Chmielnik. She arrived in Rio via La Paz on 4 Feb 1947 together with her daughter Margot Bina Chmielnik, b 23 May 1932 (her husband was already there).

So by 1947, Abraham Blumberg, his sister Sara Popower, two of Sarah’s children Mauritz Popower and Elza Chmielnik, and a grandchild Margot Chmielnik had all entered Rio.

After their immigration records I can find nothing about them except that in on 12 Jan 1951 Margot is listed as single, profession domesticas, residence Rua Newton Prado, 147.

Did they move to the US (to join Sara’s daughter Erna Lerner)? Did they move to some other part of Brazil or another South American country? Did they change their surnames? Where and when did they die? Margot could be still alive. If so, where is she? Can anyone help me find out what happened to them?
