I think simply maybe an opportunity was offered, the new immigrants were willing to try anything just to advance themselves ..
Or maybe in the new communities ur family members skills were requested...people in those days moved also to be closer living near a relative...Jews from Iasi were more observant therefore liked to live closer to family members....moved back to NYC again might have realized not for them
