Rzeszow secondary school graduates 1860-1938 with details #galicia

Logan J. Kleinwaks

I continue to add Galician secondary school reports to my full-text
search engine at genealogyindexer.org, about 400 so far out of more
than 2,000 available. While most only list students' full names (by
class), some have birth date and place, and one I have found, the
subject of this message, also includes a parent's name.

The 1937/1938 report >from Rzeszow I Gymnasium includes a list of all
graduates during 1860-1938, with birth dates and places AND the
name of the father (or mother, if widowed).

For example, Jozef Hirsch Elsner, born 21 Mar 1864 in Krakow, son of
Chaskiel, graduated 29 May 1885.

A significant percentage of births were not in Rzeszow.

There are 2,430 graduates listed, don't know how many are Jewish.

This is full-text searchable on my site, but it might be a good
candidate for separate databasing because of the unusual inclusion of
a parent's name.

To restrict a search on genealogyindexer.org to only this document,
append {s167} to your search term, like this: elsner {s167}. (Without
appending, all 2,000 sources will be searched simultaneously,
including this one.) Search results link to images of the matching
pages.

To browse, instead, visit
http://www.pbc.rzeszow.pl/dlibra/docmetadata?id=274. Browsing and
viewing matching images requires that you (once) install a .DjVu
plugin for your web browser. I use the free one from
https://www.cuminas.jp/en/downloads/download_en/?pid=1 (might
not work on Mac).
