Rita Lieger has accepted the role of Volunteer Coordinator for Jewishgen Romania Research.  My Co-Director, Michael Moritz, and I are very pleased to welcome this valuable member of our team.  Rita will be available to find a satisfying role for people wishing to help us get our many records onto Jewishgen.  She’ll help us reconnect with volunteers who may have worked for the RomSIG years ago, and find people with skills to help us in other needed ways.  We hope to have a Jewishgen email address for Rita in the near future.  Meanwhile, please use my address and I will forward her all of your inquiries and best wishes.

Rita has provided this brief biography as a means of introducing herself:

Rita Liegner has been immersed in and captivated by genealogical research as a hobby for the past 10 years.  Before her recent retirement, she was an executive for a non-profit behavioral health and social service organization, involved in management, program and staff development, and organizational change.  She has also worked as a university student services program director.  She holds an M.S.Ed  and B.A. from the City University of New York and is a licensed mental health counselor in New York State.   Rita was born in the Bronx and has lived in the New York City area all her life.
