Today in the Gesher Galicia Map Room we've posted an excellent map of
an important Galician city: the complete 1852 cadastral map of Dynow,
now in southeast Poland near Rzeszow and Przemysl.

http://maps.geshergalicia.org/cadastral/dynow-1852/

Clearly lithographed and selectively colored, the map includes property
numbers for both buildings and parcels, enabling anyone with vital and
other records to locate family homes and businesses in the historical city.
Already in 1852, the city had a well-built market square, and the map
also shows the Great Synagogue and the largeJewish cemetery, along
with many other features of a small but solid settlement.

Acquisition of the map scan images and assembly of this browsable map
were made possible by Gesher Galicia member contributions to the
Dynow town project, an element of our Galician Archival Records Project
(GARP); more info about our town projects is available here:
http://www.geshergalicia.org/town-projects/
The generosity of those contributions now makes this map available to
everyone.

The original paper map sheets are preserved not far >from Dynow in the
Polish Historical Archives in Rzeszow:
