Recently several postings have appeared in the digest with regards to
search of place identified as "Satischitz".
I'd like to point out that in the AGAD Project of Jewish Record
Indexing-Poland (JRI-P) database there are close to 8.5 thousand
entries for locations outside Galicia.
Russia (3,537 entries)
Russia town locations origins is a leading foreign country in the
database. Russian Guberniyas (Provinces) Wolyhnia and Podolia were
bordering Eastern Galicia Lwow and Tarnopol Provinces, hence border
crossing was natural but there is also possibility that some immigrants
from other parts of Russia decided to settle down in Galicia followingborder crossing in Brody on the way to the West.
Bukovina (2,024 entries), mostly found in the bordering Stanislawow
Hungary (1,297 entries), mostly shown in Lwow and Stanislawow.
Those are most probably listings for the Slovak Jews.
Prussia (448 entries) nearly all listed in Lwow Province, in addition
Germany is also listed with 79 entries.
Romania (435 entries), listed in Stanislawow and Lwow Provinces
Austria and Czechia (158 entries each).
