The abbreviation Sh. Aleph stands for Shem Imah =the name of her mother is
For a male deceased person, it would be Shem Imo = the name of his mother is.

In this case the name of her mother was Miryam  It does not express "lifting" that would be "merim" . 

I have a question to you Debbie:
Is this deceased person of Hungarian origin?
I already asked a similar question in this list at  least twice. My personal experience is that this expression is especially frequent in Hungarian tradition.
