Dear all,

Looking for records, mainly metric records, from the town of Kamenka, Podolia, today Camenca, Moldova. Camenca is part of today’s Republic of Transnistria, a breakaway region that claims independence from Moldova. This makes it apparently very hard to access any records. Old metric records that were kept in the Khmelnitzki State Archive of Ukraine suffered a fire in 2003 and only a couple of books (1842, 1848) survived.

Does anyone know of a way to access records through a local register in Transnistria? I am looking for records mainly from the 1880s up to 1920, but would be interested in later records as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
