Post-WWII Records for USA #records

My father's first cousin, Raymond Zussman, was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his role in capturing a French town during WWII.  (See ) He was a tank commander with the US Army and was killed in action, by friendly fire, a few days after his act of heroism.
This proved to be of great value many years later when I had business to conduct in the Pentagon.  My Army handler led me on what appeared to be a wild goose chase through the vast building until we came to the display case where the names of the recipients are posted.  I knew what I was looking for, found it quickly, and pointed it out to my handler.  He asked me to wait while he made a phone call.  That was the end of the BS from the Army; thereafter, they were very accommodating.
