Re: Genealogy Programs #general

I find Family Tree Maker merge function much more effective that Family Tree Builder’s more-manual method, although Family Tree Maker crashes a lot on me and things get corrupt with the local database. I am glad that master is online for both. The local PC versions are primarily useful for merges for me. I keep my single master on ma local PC in Brother’s Keeper and then manually make the same changes on geni.com.
YMMV

Does Family Tree Builder - which works with MyHeritage - work the same way as Bob describes FTM & Ancestry? That is, can you put all the tree data into Family Tree Builder, and keep it just on the computer - sync it to MyHeritage (which
is on-line) but make that all private? -- Max Heffler
