My grandmother emigrated from Poland, then part of Russia, in 1906. Her given name is listed in the 1910 US census records as Sporcha. However, she is listed in the 1920 US census as Sophie. Could Sporcha be her Polish name which was later anglicized to Sophie? Or could the 1910 listing of Sporcha just be a misspelling of Sophie. I am very curious to know. Diana
