Have you tried different spellings? About 20 years ago I worked with a Carol Volk from London. Volk is quite a common Jewish name in London. In the Polish-Lithuanian lands in the 19th century, they used the Polish language where there was a W but no V. But when such families migrated westwards the W became V.

This happened in my father's family where Serwianski became Serviansky (US), Servian (UK), Server (UK) and Sirvan (US) in UK and US.
