Georges Szlamowicz, Records from the 1920s, Paris #france #records

David Seldner

Dear All,

Since I have never done genealogy in France I am seeking for advice.

My Grandfather’s brother Jeruchim (Georges) SZLAMOWICZ was born in Lodz, Poland, on Sept 18, 1894. My mother told me many years ago that the agreement was for the family to meet “in Paris at Uncle Georges’” when the Shoa is over.

This is all I knew (except for the JRI Poland birth entry and the Lodz Registration Card), then I found an entry in the Feb 8, 1924 issue of  “L’Univers Israélite Galicia” stating the he got married at Tournelles:

Dimanche 10 février 1h ½

M. Jeruchin Georges Szlamowicz, 7 Rue de Trévise,

Mlle Rebecca Goldstein, 1 rue Sainte-Claude

Dimanche 10 février 2h ¼

Since I have not been able to find any more information on him or his wife, neither at JewishGen, MyHeritage or by simply looking via Google, I am asking for advice – where to find for example civil records Any help is appreciated.

Thank a lot in advance,

David SELDNER, Karlsruhe, Germany.
