Request for Help Translating Letter Yiddish/Judeo-German into English #austria-czech

Madeleine Isenberg

Hello SIGgers,

I try not to bother people too much but once in a while I need help.
In this case I have posted a letter on ViewMate, that I need

It is a letter written >from my great-uncle Arthur GOLDMAN to his
brother, Ben GOLDMAN who emigrated to the USA at the end of 1913. (My
martyred grandmother was their sister, married to Leopold GOLDSTEIN.)
It appears to be written more in Judeo-German than Yiddish. The
writing is very clear, but too complicated for me to translate

Arthur (aka Avram Yakov) inserts many family names that I recognize,
written in German script, and >from the content I may get a better idea
of family events and when the letter was actually written. I think he
is possibly reviewing the situation after the Holocaust. (Looks like
he had some kind of prostate operation!)

The family names of some of the people involved are: GOLDMAN,

Please respond via the form provided in the ViewMate application.

Thank you very much in advance, and wishing everyone a Shana Tovah.
