MyHeritage has purchased the French genealogy firm, Filae.com. According to CompGen, there was a fierce bidding war with Geneanet but MyHeritage’s bid was substantially more.  The shareholder’s meeting was on May 21, 2021 and the sale is expected to be finalized by the end of this year.

Filae.com was originally launched under “genealogie.com” and then under “NotreFamille.com”.  The website NotreFamille,.com was also sold.

Filae.com offers most of France’s  civil status documents in indexed form as well as many other collections.  In April 2020 Filae.com founded a genetic testing company under the name "Origines" in Estonia, since genetic testing is banned in France. In the event of a sale to MyHeritage, Filae.com intends to maintain this activity with three employees in Paris and two in Estonia.
