Re: Yiddish or Hebrew name for IDA #belarus #names

My grandmother, born 1901 in Snovsk, Ukraine, was listed on her mother's Russian passport as Ida (in the German and French pages).  She appears as Ida on the 1906 arriving passenger manifest for New York and in the 1910 US Census and on her parents' naturalization certificate.  In the 1920 census she went by Edith and that's the name she married under and how she was known the rest of her life.   Her gravestone reads איטא.
