Major new Szczuczyn records extraction project started #poland
Aaron Roetenberg
Long-time Szczuczyn and area researchers will be pleased to learn that Jewish Records Indexing - Poland https://jri-poland.org// has undertaken a huge new “Phase 3” project to fully extract all available Szczuczyn birth, marriage and death records from 1826 to 1914 in the Łomża branch of the Polish State Archives. In addition, we created indices (with fathers’ names) for the many years of later records. A number of years of Alegata records are also included.
We have received about 5000 fully translated records today with dates from 1871-1910. Not all years survived.
Births – 1871-1875, 1880-1906 Marriages – 1871, 1879-1910 Deaths – 1871, 1882-1906 Marriage Alegata 1911-1912
The translator is working on the next batch of records now and the next update is expected late this month.
As Town Leader, it would be my pleasure to send you a full description of the Phase 3 project and explain how you will be able to obtain these extracts as well as digital images of your family records up to 1914, before they go online.
I look forward to hearing from you. Top town surnames in alphabetical order:
