Horowitz Family #usa #photographs #romania

Hello to all!

I realize chances are slim, but I'm hoping someone seeing this might be related to my Horowitz family.

My great grandparents were Wolf (Lupu) and Aurelia (Goldie) Horowitz. According to family lore, Wolf, born in Odessa, was a rabbi. I have not found any documentation to verify either of those "facts". The last name Barber figures in somehow, possibly Aurelia's family name.

They settled in Iasi and had nine children: Yaakov, Rebecca, Louisa (my grandmother), Sofie, Iancu, Isador, Maria, Bella and Rosa.

In 1911, my grandmother married Leon Swarttz (later changed to Swartz); they settled in Chicago.

The attached photo c. 1916 was taken when my grandparents returned to Iasi for a visit.

Left to right First row: Willie Swartz, Harvey Swarttz, Isidor Grun, Rebecca Horowitz Grun Second row: Leon Swartz, Louise Horowitz Swartz, Rose Swarttz, Rose Horowitz?, Paneu Horowitz?, Sofie Horowitz, and ?

I know Horowitz is a huge family, but I'm hopeful someone might recognize a name or a face.
