Searching for Schwartz from Koloszvar #holocaust #hungary #romania
Searching for Elek (aka Alex, Laszlo, Lazar) SCHWARTZ probably from Koloszvar. He was in the timber business. He married Roza KOVACS, who was not Jewish, and they had at least two daughters, Klara born in 1927 and another who died in childhood, probably during 1930s. According to a family member, he was murdered or deported in 1942 or 1943 after being turned in to the police by a neighbor. The incident was supposedly reported by Daniel Lowy in his book on the Shoah in Cluj. Please let me know if this sounds familiar. I've already consulted Randolph Braham's writings on the Holocaust in Transylvania and didn't find any details.
