I am delighted to advise that the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland “Phase 3” project to fully extract all available Andrzejewo birth, marriage and death records from 1818 to 1912 in the Łomża branch of the Polish State Archives is now complete. In addition, we have added invaluable information extracted from the 1860 to 1912 Alegata records and created indices (with fathers’ names) for many post-1912 years.

The original Andrzejewo indices included 1057 surnames.  Now that the records have been extracted, there are a total of 1374 surnames.   In addition, more than 500 towns other than Andrzejewo are mentioned in the record.  These are typically the places of birth of grooms or mothers who took up residence in the town following marriage.

The new data includes information from 50 years of Alegata records (1860~1912.

Alegata documents are often the source of revelations – facts not appearing in the marriage records such as second given names, patronyms that take ancestry back 

another generation, place of birth and occupations for the individual and/or father.
