Last year, I was contacted by Eliza Kolander <eliza@...>, a researcher at the Shapell Foundation, concerning two of my ancestors who were veterans of the European Brigade of Louisiana Volunteers (Confederate). 

The Foundation is proactively reaching out to people who have ancestors who fought in the Civil War on both sides.  Anyone who can supply verified information to the Foundation should do so.
