Re: Did you go to a Jewish summer camp? #usa


I mentioned my Jewish camp experience above, but I forgot to include that my sons, born in the late 60s and early 70s, attended Blue Star in Hendersonville, NC.  As they, like I, were the only Jewish children in their school, this provided very important exposure to Jewish rituals, customs and other Jewish children. Later, my younger son decided he preferred to attend a camp for gifted children in Greensboro, NC.  I am so grateful I could send them to camp, not only for all they enjoyed, but because I knew they were safe while I worked each summer.
