My maternal gg-grandmother was Estera REICHMAN/RAJCHMAN, married to Morris/Mosek/Mosiek REICHMAN.
Her daughter, my maternal g-grandmother, was Ryfka/Rebecca REICHMAN/REJCHMAN (married to Zalman/Solomon LEVINE (aka MICHALOWICZ).
JRI-Poland mentions the following Ryfka/Rebecca REJCHMAN birth information:
Nov. 4,1845. Tomaszow Mazowiecki.
LDS # 747938/596, Akt #71
Mosiek Rejchman, 22, cloth making apprentice, Tomaszow resident &
Ester, nee MINC/MINTZ, 20. (original document was found on metryki.genbaza.pl.)
TAFLOWICZ (aka FOLKOWICZ--original doc. was mis-read by JRI-Poland as Folkowicz)
1844 Tomaszow Maz. marriage document: Ester FOLKOWICZ (document actually lists her as Taflowicz) & Mosick/Mosiek
Marriage: 27 May 1844
LDS# 747938, Akt # 8
Bride: Estera TAFLOWICZ, 21.
Parents: Haim & Zelda TAFLOWICZ.
Groom: Mosiek RAJCHMAN/REYCHMAN/REICHMAN, 22, journeyman weaver.
Parents: Haim & Cyrla REICHMAN
The first names of the Esteras' mothers have a similar sound & both fathers have the identical first name.
Both sets of Esteras & Mosicks are of similar age.
The both Mosieks have the same occupation.
The resident towns are identical.
In my family, one of Ryfka/Rebecca REICHMAN'S granddaughters was named Zelda. Was she named for Zelda TAFLOWICZ?
I have a gold wedding band that I believe belonged to one of the Esthers. A jeweler said the engraved initials were EF & the year was 1859. He needed to use a loop to read the information--could the last initial have been a "T" for Taflowicz? Also, why 1859 when, according to the above record, the marriage was in 1844? (I know that some couples had their "legal"state marriages many years after their religious ones.)
So, which Estera is my gg-grandmother: Estera TAFLOWICZ or Estera MINC/MINTZ, or are they one & the same person?
Taflowicz, Reichman, Josko, Zolna, Michalowicz, Yudin/Iudin/Judin (Belarus), Shapiro (Belarus)
