Re: When Did My Maternal Grandmother' Sister, Mildred, & her Father, Zalman, Emigrate from Poland?? #lodz #warsaw #poland

Hi Marilyn,

Michele suggested checking Mildred Goldberg's tombstone to see if her original first name is there, and knowing this name will help you search for her passenger manifest.  If your Mildred is the one married to Adolph, and she passed on in 1938, than she is at Mt. Hebron.

Interment #54510

  • First Name: MILDRED
  • Last Name: GOLDBERG
  • Date of Death: 8/12/1938
  • Age: 57
  • Location: Block 54, Ref 12, Sec J, Line 8, Grave 1
A photo of her tombstone is not in JOWBR, FindAGrave or  Perhaps you can request a photo from Mt. Hebron, or ask on our Discussion List if anyone will be visiting Mt. Hebron and able to take a photo.

Mildred used the maiden name Levine on her 1899 NYC marriage record, and on the birth record of her son Solomon.  On her death cert her father is listed as Solomon Levine.

Perhaps she arrived under the surname Levine, and not MICHALOWICZ?

Good luck in your search,

Sherri Bobish
