JRI-Poland Announces a Project for Kolbiel (Siedlce Area) #poland

Robinn Magid

JRI-Poland has a new project to extract the biographical information from the 1826-1867 Kolbiel Jewish vital records. For the first time, Kolbiel researchers will be able to find parents’ names, event dates, time of day, villages residing in, and other pertinent information like scan locator information that has never been available in the JRI-Poland database before now. This data has also been converted to the new JRI-Poland NextGen format, so that it is ready for upload as an early example in our new database when it appears on the new JRI-Poland website.

The 50 most frequently occurring surnames in this new Kolbiel file are listed below in alphabetical order:

BAJER, BEKAS, BRONSZTEJN, BROTSZTEJN, CUKERMAN, CYBULA, CYRKLEWICZ, DRACH, DREZNER, DRYTER, FISZMAN, FROJMAN, FRYDMAN, FUKS, GOLDBERG, GOLDFARB, GOLDSZTEJN, GRUSZKA, GRYNBERG, GRYNFAS, GURFINKIEL, GWIAZDA, ICYKSON, IGLICKI, JABLONKA, KOPYTO, KUPERFARB, LAJFER, LATOWICKI, LERMAN, LEWIN, LIBERMAN, MILLER, MORGENBESSER, NISENBAUM, PETRZYNSKI, PRUZNIAK, PUTERMAN, RECHTMAN, ROCHMAN, ROTSZTEJN, ROZENBERG, ROZENBLUM, RUBINSZTEJN, SLOMKA, SOLNICZKA, TOPOR, TRAFIKANT, ZYLBERSZTEJN

Please contact me if you’d like to know whether your family names appear in this new file. The best way to contact me is through the Kolbiel Town Card on the new JRI-Poland website. If you don’t have one yet - setting up your free account now will make our communications smoother later. (Thank you!)

Best wishes for a Great New Year! Hope to hear from you if you're interested in Kolbiel!
