I am finding they are marking paternal family maternal and vice versa…and unless there are hidden connections on the other side, this is very wrong as welll!!

I have the same issue. Both sides of my ancestors are from Germany/Poland. Ancestry categorizes most of mine as UNASSIGNED. Not helpful. :-(
