Dear list members,

Nathaniel Katzburg's book: Pinkasz ha-kehillot : Hungariya has just
been published in Hungarian, with title Fejezetek az ujkori zsido
tortenelembol Magyarorszagon. The original was published in Jerusalem
by Yad Vashem, 1975 (according to titlepage verso). This new one was
revised by the author, edited by Geza Komoroczy, published in Budapest
jointly by the Judaistic Studies Research Group at the Hungarian
Academy of Sciences (MTA Judaisztikai Kutatocsoport) and Osiris
Publishers, in 1999. Paperback, 244 pages, ISBN 963 379 702 0.

This work is a comprehensive treatment of the history of Hungary's
Jewry >from the 17th century.

There is a chapter included where the author gives a bibliography (25
pages) of publications about local histories of communities. Checking
it against Louis Schonfeld's Yizkor book catalog (at
http://www.jewishgen.org/hungary/Yizkor_Book_Inventory.htm ) it
appears that they have the same entries for the particular
communities. Katzburg's bibliography has a wider scope though, since
his chapter is not limited to Yizkor books only.

Thought some of you might be interested in this book.

Regards,

Janos Bogardi / Radix.
