The Austrian Jewish Museum http://www.ojm.at has published on its site all
gravestones >from the almost forgotten little cemetery in Karmacs.
The cemetery was discovered coincidentally in 2007 by a friend of the
museum. All in all, she visited the place -- and took pictures -- five times
until 2018. Unfortunately, biographical data is sparse. However, the museum
wants to make sure that also the names >from this little cemetery will not be
forgotten. Several familiar names are to be found such as Oesterreicher,
Pollak, Rechnitzer, Fuerst, Rosenberg. There is, for example, the grave of
Ester Rechnitzer, d. 1855, wife of Abraham Rechnitzer who was born in 1780
in Rechnitz in (today's) Burgenland.
