Re: ICHEIC humanitarian awards #austria-czech

Ron, one of the Pikholz families was offered a "voluntary payment" (it
was not called a "humanitarian award" but it sounds like the same idea)
for a policy that had a face value of 2000 zloties in 1939. Generali
said that since no payments were made after that time, they are not
obligated to pay anything. I don't know if these cousins accepted this
offer, which was less than $3500..

However, as I understand it, the amount of claims from
survivors was less than the ICHEIC budget, so they are
distributing the excess budget to people who placed
claims.

Does anybody have information on the above and how is
the ICHEIC is calculating those "humanitarian awards"?
