you have to be careful to distinguish "nusach sefarad", which is a hassidic variation of the ashkenazic tradition, >from "minhag sefarad" which is the real sefardic ritual. i would guess that there were very few, if any, genuine sefardics in transylvania, but there were a lot of hassidim, which some people refer to as "davening sefardic", which is not accurate.

outside of transylvania, i don't know much about the jews nearer bucharest, etc.
