Dear all
Thanks to Tom Klein's answer I learned that Gyoza=Victor [not =
So it was Daniel who died in WW1 and Victor who arrived in NY in 1913.I
looked for Victor in 1920 census and found him as a boarder in Manhattan
district 14 [all details matched -age ,year of immigration etc. I also =
him in WW1 draft registration ,all details matching [including town of
origin in Hungary-Banat] but this time in Bridgeport Fairfield county =
So far so good. Searching the 1930 census ,there are only 2 Victor
Weinberger >from Hungary ; one in Brooklyn Kings but he arrived in 1921 =
spoke Yiddish [while the family spoke only Hungarian and German] and the
other in Detroit arrived in 1923. I also found nothing that fits in SSDI.
I have 2 question for the group; are there any lists for people who left =
USA back to Europe ? in the WW1 registration , answering to " do you =
redemption" he wrote Ruptur- what did he mean by that?
Any more suggestions how to go further?
