Dear Belarus SIG Members:

First of all I want to thank all of you for being part of this ever
growing group. Many people have come forward to volunteer to
translate/transliterate, enter data in spreadsheets, go to libraries to
obtain data, donate research material, run the web site, head research
groups, and a host of other tasks. Some have contributed money to the
research projects. There have been a wonderful exchanges of information
over the discussion group. I hope that more and more of you will find
the time and resources that will help us all in our quest to expand our
knowledge.

I am happy to report that today, Sept 24, 1998, the Belarus SIG
membership reached the 300 mark. We have a very diverse and knowledgable
membership. Subscribers include researchers >from Israel, the UK, Canada,

Sweeden, (th?), and the US. There may be subscribers >from other
countries, but I couldn't determine them >from the e-mail addresses.
Several of our members are former residents of Belarus. In addition, we
have university professors, JGS presidents, language experts, computer
experts, and lots of other people with different skills and levels of
expertise.
