I am about to expose my ignorance about some points of geography in hopes
someone can set me straight.
My grandmother came >from a small town in the vicinity of Pinsk, the exact
spelling is not known but it is some variety of Koniche. My question is: is
this an area that I sometimes see referred to as Galicia and was this area
ever under the rule of Poland or was it always Russian territory? Any info to
clear up my confusion will be appreciated.
