My wife and I are going to Prague in April to visit our son, who is
studying abroad. We plan to make an excursion to Slovakia to explore my
family's roots in the Zemplin Region. We expect to take a train to
Kosice and then rent a car, where we will do a two day tasting tour of
some of the places where my ancestors roamed, (Zatin, Krafovsky Chimec,
Humenne, and Topolvolka).
I don't expect to have time to do any serious genealogical research,
but would love to get a feeling of how my ancestor's lived. With that
in mind, does anyone on this forum have suggestions of good hotels,
restaurants, and places to see that would be of genealogical interest.
Mark Strauss (STRAUSS/DEUTSCH of Zatin, Slovakia; BERKOVITS/EICHLER of
Humene and Topolvolka).
