A friend is seeking to find records of her family's property ownership in
the very-small town of Oborin in the Michalovce district, Kosice region of
Zemplen county, Slovakia. The property was purchased about 1914 (i.e. before
the dissolution of Austria-Hungary) and abandoned or sold at the end of
World War II, during which the family was deported and two members returned.
The town was part of Czechoslovakia both before and after the war, not clear
where it was during; the Jews were not deported until 1944. Obviously, after
1993 it became part of Slovakia.
I am looking for information on where to go to search property records that
might lead to information about whether the property was sold. Thanks in
