Re: Help Identifying a Town in Hungary #hungary

Dear Fellow Hungarian SIG Members:

My maternal grandfather emigrated to the U.S. in 1916 >from Hungary.
On his World War I draft registration card, he wrote that his father
was born in Gosza, Hungary. (This was in his handwriting, and I am
identifying the letters >from other words written on the rest of that
card. I am pretty confident that I am reading the letters correctly,
although I am not 100% sure.)

My grandfather was born in 1896. I have been unable to locate a town
called Gosza that would have existed in the 1870s to 1880s in Hungary.

Does anyone know what town in Hungary my grandfather might have been
referring to?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Leslie
