I am searching for my gg-grandfather Dr. Daniel Joseph Carlich who lived in England during the 19th Century. During WWII my grandfather was stationed in England and while there wanted to visit his grave. Apparently my grandfather contacted the local police in his search as I have a letter addressed to him by a Constable stating that they could not locate the grave which was in Hull. I am somewhat confused by this as I've been always told that he lived and practiced in London. My question is with regard to Hull. Is this city located near London and if it is could people 'commute' to work in London during this period.
